What HR and finance will ask
- Employees, not contractors. Every bartender is a W-2 employee of Platinum Bartenders LLC and RBS certified.
- Insurance. General liability, liquor liability and workers' compensation, $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate. Our standard certificate is free. A certificate naming your venue or building as additional insured is $250 under 100 guests and $350 for 100 or more.
- One invoice. Staff, drinks, rentals and extras on one itemised quote.
- Gratuity included. A $100 gratuity per staff member, paid in full to the staff, is included on corporate events, so nobody needs a tip jar.
- Permits. Where a one-day ABC permit is required, we can obtain it for $1,950. Whether you need one depends on the venue and whether drinks are sold.

For corporate events, bartenders arrive two hours before doors to set up and stay 30 minutes after, so a four hour party bills 6.5 bartender hours. Barbacks, servers and hosts bill the event hours, with a four hour minimum.
Staff are paid 25% more on Dec 24, Dec 25 and Dec 31 (and Jan 1). The same office party on December 31 is $3,697. A holiday-themed party on any other date pays normal rates. Bookings made within 48 hours of the event add 20%.
Sales tax applies to drinks, food and rentals, not staff. Bookings of $10,000 or less are paid in full to hold the date; over $10,000, a 25% deposit holds it and the balance is due seven days before.

How booking works
Questions companies ask
How much does a bartender cost for a company holiday party in Los Angeles?
Bartenders are $79 an hour. For corporate events they are billed two hours of setup and 30 minutes of breakdown, so a four hour party bills 6.5 hours, or $513.50 a bartender. A $100 gratuity per staff member, paid in full to the staff, is included on corporate events, and card payments add 3.6%.
How many bartenders do we need?
One bartender for every 50 guests. Add a barback or another bartender if your team drinks more than one or two drinks each.
Do you supply the alcohol?
Yes, if you choose a bar package: the full bar is from $19 a guest and the craft cocktail bar from $25 a guest at light consumption. Or book bartenders only and supply the drinks yourself.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance for our building?
Yes. Our standard certificate is free. A certificate naming your venue or building as additional insured is $250 for events under 100 guests and $350 for 100 or more.
Do we need a liquor permit for a party at our office?
It depends on the building, the guest count and whether alcohol is sold. Where a one-day ABC permit is required, we can obtain it for $1,950. Confirm the specifics with your building and with California ABC.
Is there a holiday surcharge?
Staff are paid 25% more on Dec 24, Dec 25, Dec 31 and Jan 1, plus Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. A holiday-themed party on any other date pays normal rates.
What about guests who do not drink?
Add a zero-proof wellness bar with matcha, kombucha, coconut water and zero-proof cocktails, at $18, $26 or $38 a guest. It can run alongside a cocktail bar.
How do we pay?
Bookings of $10,000 or less are paid in full to hold the date. Over $10,000, a 25% deposit holds the date and the balance is due seven days before. Card payments add 3.6%.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can. A date is held once it is paid, not before. Bookings within 48 hours of the event add 20%.
