The cheapest way to staff a bar in Los Angeles is to hire the bartender and supply the alcohol yourself. That is 4 hours x $70 = $280, plus a $100 service charge, so $380 for a four hour party with no per-guest charge. Everything below trims the same booking further.

Book the bartender, buy your own liquor

A bartender only booking means you provide the spirits, mixers, ice and glassware. It is priced by the hour with no per-guest charge, which makes it the lowest-cost option for most parties.

Compare that to a package. A full bar is $19 per guest at light consumption, so 40 guests is $760 with the drinks included. At heavy consumption, where full bar is $57 per guest, the maths can turn the other way once you count the bottles.

Stay at the 4 hour minimum
